Handmade Father's Day Gifts

Yay, happy Father's Day to all the great fathers out there who love, teach and provide for their children.

Let's take a peek at what we've made for Daddy this year. We've prepared these presents long before the Day.

Here is a finger-painting we've done together. I drew the tree branches and they painted the leaves using their tiny fingers. So cute*

Next, we found rocks from the backyard, and Brandon helped me clean them.

After the rocks were cleaned, we dried them outside under the sun so we could paint them.

We picked 12 rocks total, 6 rocks per child. I let them choose the colors they wanted for each rock and labeled the paper plates with their names so I know who painted which ones.

After that, we just had to wait until they dry for at least 24 hours. I also had to find a place to hide all these plates, which was the more difficult part.

The next day, when the kids were taking their naps, it was assembling time. Can we tell what we are making yet?

Caterpillars!

I lined up the rocks and put glue between them.

After another 24 hours, I cut up black pipe cleaners and made legs for the caterpillars.

Then the eyes.

On a separate day, we went to the craft store, and the kids got to pick their gift boxes and some shredded paper. When we came home, we put everything together.

The boxes were perfect for the caterpillars, because butterflies came from caterpillars. Brilliant choice, kids!

We also bought a frame for their tree finger-painting.

Daddy was surprised, and said that he'll bring these presents to his work and put them by his desk. ^_^

11 Weeks | Talking With Daddy

She's a bundle of fun. She knows our voices, she can talk to us...at 11 weeks. I thought that was a pretty incredible moment in daddy and mommy's life. (Just remember to turn up the volume on your speakers for this one ^_~)

Nap With Daddy

This is Sophie spending the afternoon with Daddy last weekend like every other weekend.
She is so happy to bond with Daddy on his day off.

(Week 7)

She looks so cute in every picture, I cannot decide which ones to choose, so I just put them all up. I know I know... I am completely bias thinking that she's totally awesome and adorable. I am her mother, what can I say?

Glued On To Daddy

"When daddy gets off from work on weekday nights or on weekends, he just couldn't put me down. I'm usually glued onto daddy like this. He's so warm and cuddly, I can sleep and feel safe in his arms."

8 Days Old

Sophie playing (unconsciously) with daddy before his paternity leave is up. T_T I think I miss my husband more than Sophie misses her daddy. ^^

Today she's 8 days old.

Tim's Peking Duck

On Friday, Tim brought home a duck from Chinatown. The whole day Saturday he worked on it according to a recipe he found online. It turned out to be a success. But I must say, the whole process took many hours. We also went all over town to find the proper tools and cookwares for the duck. Haha, it was fun. When the duck was being roasted, the whole house smelled so good. After we finished all the duck meat, Tim used the leftover bones to make a duck broth. So yummy. My husband is turning out to be quite a chef. ^^

Tim @ Lover's Point

Tim and I went back to California for a week at the end of May and beginning of June. Together with my family and my cousin's family, we went to Lover's Point, Monterey during Memorial Day this year. Tim took over the camera and got some really awesome shots.

Don't you agree?

This one is my all-time favorite.
